IndiGo, Mumbai airport get Centre's notice over passengers eating on tarmac

  The ministry of civil aviation on Tuesday issued show-cause notices to IndiGo and Mumbai airport after a video of passengers sitting and eating on the tarmac went viral on social media. This comes after union minister of civil aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia held a meeting with all ministry officials last night. According to the notice, both IndiGo and the Mumbai airport were not proactive in anticipating the situation and making the appropriate facilitation arrangements for passengers, reported news agency ANI. Reportedly, the aircraft was allotted a remote bay C-33 instead of a Contact Stand - an aircraft parking stand that is suitable for walking passengers to and fro the aircraft and an allocated boarding gate. “This further added to passenger woes and deprived them the opportunity to avail basic facilities like restrooms and refreshments at the terminal,” it added.The aviation ministry has sought a reply from the IndiGo and Mumbai airport by the end of the day over the inciden...

BREAKING| Supreme Court Stays HC Order Appointing Commissioner To Inspect Shahi Eidgah Masjid In Krishna Janmabhoomi Dispute.

  The Supreme Court on Tuesday (January 16) stayed the implementation of the Allahabad High Court order appointing a Commissioner to inspect the Shahi Eidgah mosque at Mathura in the Krishna Janmabhoomi case. A bench comprising Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta passed the interim order  while issuing notice on a special leave petition filed by the mosque committee gainst a December 14 order of the Allahabad High Court by which it had  allowed an application for the appointment of a court commissioner to inspect the mosque. Advocate Tasneem Ahmadi, appearing for the Mosque Committee, argued that the High Court could not have passed the order when an application seeking  rejection of the suit as barred by the Places of Worship Act 1991 (under Order VII Rule 11 CPC) is pending. Angel One shares plunge 13% post Q3 results; what Motilal Oswal says

  Angel One   witnessed a significant decline in its stock value early on Tuesday following the company's release of Q3 FY24 numbers on Monday post-market hours. The company reported a net profit of   ₹ 260 crore in Q3FY24, reflecting a 14.50% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) decrease but showing a positive 14% year-on-year (YoY) improvement. Its total revenue from operations for Q3FY24 increased by 1% QoQ and 41% YoY, reaching  ₹ 1,059 crore. During the quarter, Angel One achieved the highest-ever client addition, welcoming 2.5 million clients. As of the end of December 2023, the company's client base had expanded to 19.5 million, marking a 14% increase on a QoQ basis and a healthy 55% growth YoY. In terms of transactions, the number of orders stood at 350 million in 3QFY24, up 54% YoY.
